Apple late Monday updated its annual “12 Days of Gifts” promotion, which offers free iTunes and App Store content each day during the holidays. After several years of offering the deal to customers in Canada and parts of Europe, this year marks the first time that U.S. customers will be able to participate.
From 26 December – 6 January, you can download a gift each day—songs, apps, books, films and more—with the 12 Days of Gifts app. Each day’s gift will only be available for 24 hours, so download the free app to make sure you don’t miss out. Please note: Not all content is available in all countries.
Customers wishing to participate need only to download the free “12 Days of Gifts” app from the iOS App Store. The app will update each day between December 26th and January 6th, providing links and codes for free content. Past freebies have included episodes of popular television series, music videos, iBooks, and iOS games. Those without iOS devices have traditionally been able to access the free gifts via the iTunes desktop client. It’s unclear if that will still be an option this year.
12 Days of Gifts, originally called 12 Days of Christmas, first launched in Europe in 2008 and expanded to Canada in 2010. Content licensing restrictions kept U.S. customers out of the mix until this year.
