Microsoft is gearing up for the Xbox One’s June update, which will finally add long-awaited support for external hard drives. Other new features include the ability to associate real names with gamer profiles, new Xbox Live Gold membership benefits, and expanded support for the console’s TV features.
Apple on Wednesday released an update to the Safari Web Browser for Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion. Safari 7.0.4 for OS X 10.9, and version 6.1.4 for 10.8 and 10.7, addresses several security vulnerabilities and promises to resolve a memory corruption issue.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 is set for release this spring, and a new leaked build shows users what they can expect from the upcoming edition of Microsoft’s operating system. New features include the ability to pin Metro apps to the Taskbar, new Start Screen buttons for mouse and keyboard users, and a more traditional way to manage full screen Metro apps.
