What the Tek? Welcome to TekRevue!

Welcome to TekRevue! My name is Jim and I’ll be your tour guide today. Please keep your hands on your keyboard or tablet for the duration of the ride. Okay, ready? Here we go…

Now that you’ve found our little slice of the Internet, let me tell you a bit about what’s happening here. There are already a ton of reputable tech sites, but none of them perfectly match our “ideal” news destination. Some sites cast a huge net and cover virtually every conceivable topic, but they don’t dive deep enough to provide relevant context and analysis. Other sites have laser-like focus on a single market or company. Still others exist only to aggregate information and offer just a token paragraph of commentary, while some revel in offering dissertations on topics that don’t always need the verbosity.

For years we searched in vain for a site that met our desire for a wide variety of topics covering only the day’s most important news. We couldn’t find it so we built it.

So here’s what we promise you: we’ll provide full coverage of the most important stories each day; we won’t be limited to covering a certain company or platform; we’ll try not to be verbose and take ten paragraphs to state what could be said in one; we’ll try not to be too brief and merely copy the headline of a company’s PR statement; and we’ll always offer an honest opinion that is unaffected by undue outside influences.

While TekRevue officially launches today, April 23, 2013, you’ll likely notice some existing content dating back as far as February. This content was created as we designed and developed the site. It’s all original content and, while some of the news stories may no longer be timely, our selection of tips certainly still is.

So that’s TekRevue. We’ll be starting daily coverage today of news and events from nearly all areas of the tech industry. We’ll also have product and software reviews coming shortly, and a growing archive of tips and tricks. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to contact us with your feedback and questions.
