Apple Dev Center Finally Back Online, Accounts Extended 1 Month

More than three weeks after it was taken offline following a purported white hat hacking incident, the Apple Developer Center has been fully restored. The company announced the news via email early Saturday.

Apple has been slowing bringing various portions of the site back online as it sought to rebuild its database and correct the security vulnerabilities that led to the initial hack. With Saturday’s news, all portions of the site have been restored.

The Apple Dev Center is crucial to the company’s third-party application ecosystem. Developers and testers of applications for both iOS and OS X rely on the service to submit their applications to the various stores, try pre-release software, and obtain technical information and training for the creation and improvement of their applications.

During the initial outage, Apple pledged to keep all developer accounts active, even those set to expire in the past three weeks. The company now states that all accounts will be extended one month free of charge as compensation for the inconvenience.
