Detailed Look at iPhone 5 Components Crammed into iPhone 5S Shell
With just under two weeks to go until Apple unveils the next line of iPhone hardware, TLDToday provides a detailed look at an allegedly leaked iPhone 5S case and how current iPhone 5 internal components compare to the upcoming phone’s layout.
Armed with the rear shell of the rumored “gold” iPhone 5S model, TLDToday dissects an iPhone 5 and attempts to reconstruct it inside the 5S case. Although it should come as no surprise, the parts do not fit perfectly due to changes in the 5S layout, although the effort provides some hints about Apple’s plans for the device, including a larger battery and a new board configuration.
Although “S” models of iPhones are usually minimal spec updates spaced in between larger updates, the rumors about the capabilities of the iPhone 5S indicate that it may be a far more significant update than its spiritual predecessor, the 2011’s iPhone 4S.
The video also provides yet another high-quality look at the alleged third color choice for the iPhone 5S. Although early rumors of a “gold” iPhone were met with disbelief and criticism, the more recent part leaks reveal it to be a far more subtle “champagne” color that is expected to do well in emerging markets.
Although Apple has yet to officially confirm its release plans, well-connected sources report that Apple will hold the iPhone event on Tuesday, September 10, with the actual hardware launch to follow on Friday, September 20.
