Despite some problems with items like Mail, OS X Mavericks is, overall, one of the most stable operating system releases for any platform in recent years. Still, there’s always room for improvement, and the team in Cupertino has just released the inevitable first point update to developers.
OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 Pre-Release is now available for testing by registered developers using the OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility. The update moves the build number to 13B27, up from 13A603, and asks developers to focus on Graphics Drivers, VoiceOver, and further testing with Mail. Like many other sites, we have seen Macs in Cupertino running OS X 10.9.1 hit our servers for the past several weeks.
OS X Mavericks is the latest desktop operating system from Apple. It was released as a free update on October 22, 2013. For comparison, Mavericks’ predecessor, OS X Mountain Lion, launched on July 25, 2012, with the first update to 10.8.1 arriving on August 23, 2012.
