Microsoft Confirms October 17 as Windows 8.1 Launch Date

Confirming the rumors from earlier this week, Microsoft today announced the launch schedule for the anticipated Windows 8.1 update. The final version of the update will roll out to current Windows 8 users via the Windows Store on Thursday morning, October 17 with a retail launch the following day.
