Apple this morning announced that the highly anticipated new Mac Pro will be available to order starting tomorrow (Thursday, December 19th). Retail stores and authorized resellers should also soon be receiving stock.
Apple® today announced the all-new Mac Pro® will be available to order starting Thursday, December 19. Redesigned from the inside out, the all-new Mac Pro features the latest Intel Xeon processors, dual workstation-class GPUs, PCIe-based flash storage and ultra-fast ECC memory…The all-new Mac Pro will be available to order starting Thursday, December 19 through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
The Mac Pro starts at $2,999 for a quad-core configuration. While pricing information for built-to-order components has leaked, there’s still no official word on how much the upgrades will cost. Based on the leaked information, however, it is likely that the top-end 12-core model will run about $10,000.
It’s unknown exactly when Apple will begin to take orders on Thursday, but those waiting anxiously to place an order should check the company’s website around midnight Pacific time.
