Apple Highlights OS X Yosemite Design Changes in New Video
Apple on Monday published a short video on YouTube detailing some of the design changes slated for OS X Yosemite.
We reconsidered every element of the Mac interface, large and small. The result is something that feels fresh, but still inherently familiar. Completely new, yet completely Mac.
The video gives users who aren’t eligible for the Yosemite beta a closer look at the new designs for Finder, the Dock, Messages, Notification Center, and user interface elements like fonts and buttons.
While it maintains an overall look that is distinctly OS X, Yosemite introduces many new design elements including the replacement of Lucida Grande with Helvetica Neue as the default system font, fresh new icons, and widespread use of transparency. Beta builds of the operating system are in the hands of registered developers now, and a public beta will launch later this summer. The final version of OS X Yosemite is scheduled to ship this fall.
