Gamers and investors now expect a new Call of Duty game each year, but there’s no way that existing developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch can keep up with that schedule. So Activision is bringing in a third developer, Sledgehammer Games, which will grant each studio a three-year development cycle while still allowing for yearly releases.
