Nest Adds Third Party Integration with New ‘Works with Nest’ Program
Nest Labs, creator of the Nest Thermostat and Nest Protect Smoke Detector, announced early Tuesday a new “Works with Nest” developer program, allowing other devices, appliances, and automobiles to integrate and communicate with Nest products for the first time.
Nest Protect Smoke Detector Returning to Stores Soon
After voluntarily halting sales in early April, Nest will return its Nest Protect smoke detector to store shelves in the next few weeks. The sales halt was due to an issue with the Nest Wave feature, which could be inadvertently triggered during an actual fire. Although it makes the product less convenient, Nest’s solution to the issue is to disable Nest Wave until a better solution can be found.
Nest Thermostat Update Adds Fan Control, Adjusts for Humidity
