Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s devices and services divisions will have to wait a bit longer to finalize. Both companies announced early Monday that the deal, expected to close this month, won’t wrap up until April as regulatory agencies in Asia have yet to issue approval.
The $7.2 billion deal to sell Nokia’s mobile hardware business to Microsoft is inching closer to reality. Nokia’s shareholders this week overwhelmingly approved the sale, and the deal is expected to be finalized in early 2014.
