Now, after months of work, Reeder’s developer is ready to show off Reeder 2 for Mac, albeit in beta form. Now compatible with a variety of RSS services, Reeder 2 sports a new look, cool animations, and robust support for third party service integration. It’s free while in beta to all users, although a paid Mac App Store release is on the way.

As expected, Microsoft on Monday released OneNote for Mac as a free download via the Mac App Store. As part of the move, Microsoft has now made OneNote free for personal use on all of its desktop and mobile platforms.

Windows 8.1 Preview Now Available From Windows Store
As promised, Microsoft has made the Windows 8.1 Preview available for download. MSDN and TechNet subscribers can download a full installer image from their respective membership sites, while everyone else can get the preview from the Windows Store.
