Apple is now offering the popular iOS journaling app Day One 2 for free, although the process to obtain the app is a bit different from past Apple deals.
To grab Day One 2 for free, you’ll need to download and launch the Apple Store app, not the standard App Store, and scroll down to the “Featured Accessories” section. There, you’ll see a small banner (pictured below) advertising the free promotion. Tap on the banner to see the promotion’s terms and conditions and then tap Download now for free to transfer to the App Store and redeem your free copy of Day One 2.
Day One 2 is the generally well-received successor to the original award-winning Day One app (still available as “Day One Classic” in the iOS App Store), which enables users to create daily journals featuring notes, pictures, maps, weather, links, and more. It launched for iOS back in early February and is normally priced at $4.99. There’s also a version of Day One 2 for OS X, which is priced at $19.99 and is not part of this current promotion.
According to Apple’s terms and conditions, Day One 2 will remain free until May 1, 2016, so be sure to grab the app before then if you’re interested in keeping a media-rich journal via your iOS devices.
